The wolf holds strong symbolism in many cultures, and many folk tales are based on the wolf's evil nature, yet it also embodies the strength of a leader, the power to hold the pack together. The main message of my painting is the strength that is reflected in the wolf, a strength that we can cultivate within ourselves in a way that builds, rather than destroys, society. Emotional and social intelligence should motivate us to grow in a way that does not trample over others' feelings, to not only focus on our own interests, but to act with kindness toward others, respecting the rules of social coexistence.
Both good and evil exist within us. Both wolves live within us. The question is, which one do we feed?
